- Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
- CBT is a brief, skills-based therapy that is a gold standard in evidence-based psychotherapy. It focuses on addressing thinking patterns and behaviors.
- CBT can be used to treat emotional concerns such as anxiety and depression. CBT can also help with managing ADHD.
- Depending on goals for treatment, I may combine CBT with teaching skills in mindfulness meditation, relaxation, and stress management.
- Coping with illness
- After diagnosis of a chronic or life-threatening illness, it is common to experience emotional difficulties. This is true for both patients and caregivers.
- I work with adults affected by cancer and other chronic illnesses (e.g., myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome, rheumatological illness).
- Promoting healthy behaviors
- I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), the gold standard treatment for treating chronic insomnia. Here is my CBT-I directory listing: https://cbti.directory/search-for-a-clinician/home-directory/usa/united-states-cbti-providers/254-daniel-hall
- I also work with patients to improve their health by quitting smoking, reducing emotional eating, and increasing adherence to medications.
- Mind-body resiliency training
- I am a SMART-certified facilitator and supervisor with the MGH Benson-Henry Institute: https://bensonhenryinstitute.org/smart-program/
